Making excellent use of 2005-2006 Part 3 and Part 4 School Journals, The Works: Reading Activities  resource conatins a number of short reading contracts for middle-upper primary school students. Chris compiled these activities with the help of his students during Term 1 in 2008 at Huiakama School in Taranaki.
Each contract includes comprehension, word study or development of vocabulary skills, sequencing and comprehending and interpreting visual and informational text. Students have opportunities to extend their reading skills and responses to the language, meanings and ideas, and visual imagery presented in a range of texts. Ideal for group and individual reading and group oral discussions.
