The Art of Thinking: Learning to Think by Looking at Art is an essential thinking skills guide for teachers and students! Through practical, simple investigations into art with a thinking skills approach we can develop the art of effective and independent thinking.
Dating from c700AD to 2008, 38 well-known art works, including paintings, sculpture, jewellery, architecture and cultural artifacts are displayed on the CD, each with a 3-frame slideshow, on computer or whiteboard. The CD includes teaching guidelines, information and graphic organisers. The 100-page manual is packed with a double-page spread about each art work, step-by-step instructions including thinking skill techniques, background stories, creative activities, extension ideas and photocopiable charts and graphics. The skills are totally interchangeable and can be adapted for use with any of the other artworks, giving well over 900 different options!
