Our Ziptales website provides online web-based interactive resources to assist in the development of literacy and ICT skills. Designed for students of ages 6-12, this online site can be used with individual readers, groups or your whole class. Its features also makes it appealing to reluctant readers.
Features:
- a core reading library of 200 stories in 12 different genre categories; from scary stories, true stories, adventures, myths and so on.
- stories at 3 readability levels with optional voiceover and with short online comprehension (cloze or multiple choice) at the end of each story, where the reader instantly knows his/her score.
- a range of literacy-based interactive modules to complement the core library.
- a 'staffroom': full summaries of all the stories with word counts, Lexile measures, word counts, themes, suggestions for use, readability levels, photocopiable worksheets etc.
- Where Do I Start? A short online pre-test to determine students' starting level.
