About this title.

In the evening of August 8, 1979 a huge landslip occurred in the Dunedin suburb of Abbotsford. While no lives were lost 69 houses were either completely destroyed when they slid down the cliff or had to be demolished. These are stories of some of the worst disasters in New Zealand history explaining the causes of the disasters, the effects of these events upon the lives of people, the ways in which institutions and individuals coped with the disasters and some implications for the future. With original photographs.
