This unit provides students with the opportunity to develop their knowledge of flax through a range of perspectives. Through the following curriculum areas students focus on weaving (Art), flax whanau (Language), flax as fibre (science/technology), the importance of flax to Maori (Social Studies), the flax community (Science), the flax gallery (Information Technology.
