About this title.

A programme for beginning readers and ESOL students which takes a basic set of 20 emergent words and tells you how to teach early reading skills using these words. A variety of reading activities and games and suggested methods for teaching are all very clearly laid out, as well as plenty of other ideas. A sample lesson is also detailed by the author. Assessment pages are all set out for recording a student's progress or assessing their starting point and also clearly set out the sequence for learning. Individuals learn at their own rate and this programme helps with ways to make this workable within a classroom or to tailor-make a reading programme for an emergent reader. Also useful for someone who is having difficulty getting started in reading at all or for ESOL students.
