About this title.

The activities in this resource are designed to meet the needs of children in their first year at school learning to read. 'Beginning to Read' uses a phonics approach combined with a whole language approach (seeing words in context). Use this resource in other areas of language and development: listening and speaking- through the use of cued articulation - ie physically acting out sounds to help distinguish the differences between them; writing - with an emphasis of sounding out and 'having a go'.
