5 Favourite Fairy Tales is an excellent resource for use in expanding literacy skills. It is designed to give students a fresh outlook on the stories chosen: Cinderella, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Jack and the Beanstalk, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. This is done through the use of structured activities which require children to do more than simply just answering factual questions. Some activities will require students to use information by solving problems and making assumptions; while others ask students to be creative and evaluative by putting forward original theories and ideas and by providing opinions on aspects of the story.
